Regular-ir Verbs
Regular -ir verbs make up the second biggest grouping of verb conjugations and are a necessity.
Regular -ir Verbs – Les verbes réguliers en -ir
The regular -ir verbs make up the second of the three traditional verb groupings. As the description of ‘regular’ suggests, these verbs follow a conjugation pattern that can be predicted. In the present tense, the conjugation of regular -ir verbs requires two steps:
1) the removal of the ending ‘-ir’
2) the addition of the correct present tense ending, according to the subject.

Irregular -ir verbs (i.e. verbs not in the 2nd group), do not follow this regular pattern.
Unlike the first group (regular -er) verbs, the third person singular and plural verb forms are distinguishable by sound for second group (regular -ir) verbs. That said, all three of the singular forms sound the same, and must be discerned based on other parts of the sentence.
