Irregular -ir Verbs
A number of very important, high-frequency -ir verbs are irregular. Here, we’ll look at a few of the most common conjugations.
Irregular -ir Verbs – Les verbes irréguliers en -ir
Although the second grouping of verbs is the regular -ir verbs, many verbs ending in -ir are irregular, finding themselves in the third grouping of verbs. This can especially be seen in their present tense conjugations, which can be grouped together.

The same conjugations can be seen with other verbs ending in ‘-venir’, as well as verbs ending in ‘-tenir’. This includes: ‘appartenir à’, ‘devenir’, ‘maintenir’, ‘parvenir à’, ‘revenir’, ‘soutenir’ and ‘se souvenir de’.
